Welcome to our online monthly update
for GFG customers and partners
In this issue we report
on our financial year, just ended, and announce the appointment
of Peter Goldfinch to head up our new Singapore office
and operations. For those interested in global
trends in credit and debit card payments (isn't that
all of us?), I particularly recommend the first of a
series of "opinion pieces" by Peter Goldfinch -
and I must add the disclaimer that these articles represent
Peter's personal opinion. We hope you'll find this
update worthwhile. Please do send me your comments and
feedback here and
please do subscribe others
as appropriate.
Best regards,
Marie Tamplin-Woods

GFG to open Singapore office
GFG has appointed Peter Goldfinch
to the new position of General Manager South East Asia based
in Singapore. The appointment is part of GFG's plans to increase
its "footprint" in South East Asia, building on the solid
foundation established in the Philippines where GFG has implemented
and supports an award-winning mobile payments solution for
Smart Communications, as well as a major new Cadencie solution
for one of the fastest growing banks in the region - Banco
de Oro. Read

Balanced on the downside of the
lifecycle curve
The credit and debit card
market is about to undergo radical change, argues GFG Group's newly-appointed
General Manager South East Asia, Peter Goldfinch. In this thought provoking
opinion piece, Peter draws on his 23 years consulting experience in
the international electronic payments business - including
pioneering work on the first ATM and EFTPOS networks and a
key role in the introduction of credit and debit cards in Russia.
His analysis of the market - with particular reference to the
Australian market - is a must read for those interested in
global as well as local trends in credit and debit card usage. Read
