GFG:PINselect upgrade allows remote
PIN selection with Triple DES support
10 April 2006
GFG has upgraded GFG:PINselect – which enables remote customer services such as PIN selection without a branch visit – to meet the most stringent new standards of cryptographic processing.
The banking industry is part of a worldwide trend towards an increase in remote customer service. Busy customers resent having to find the time to visit a branch, and this – coupled with branchless banking services - led GFG Group to develop a unique system that allows customers to select or change their card PIN without having to visit a branch.
Using a secure Interactive Voice Response-based system, GFG:PINselect enables card holders to call an IVR system and select their own PIN over the telephone.
The key features of the GFG:PINselect system are:
- Customers no longer have to visit a branch or ATM to change their PIN
- Customers can select or change their PIN from anywhere in the world
- Customers have 24 x 7 access to a PIN selection system, if the Call
Centre supports these hours - The system has two operating modes:
- Mail Mode
- Telephone Mode
The system allows mixing of the two modes. You can be completely online or do some parts online and others in batch.
GFG:PINselect includes 3DES support - specified by the major financial institutions - for cryptographic processing.
GFG:PINselect is a Client Server application.
- GFG:PINselect Server can be supplied in two versions, Unix or Windows OS
- Windows OS designed to run under all current 32 Bit Windows OS
- Unix designed to run under SPARC Sun Solaris
- All configuration is done from the Client GUI
- You can monitor the interfaces via the client
- Updated Thales calls to increase security and allow for LAN-attached Thales
- Ability to search through System Logs
- All Encryption is 3DES
- Supports ISO8583 backend
- More granularity in error codes
- Can Lock configuration against accidental changes
- Two levels of access to configuration, Inquiry and Full
