GFG’s Wayne Robinson appointed to
new Group Operations Manager position

1 March 2006

Wayne Robinson – GFG’s former General Manager in Australia – has been appointed to the new position of Group Operations Manager, based in Auckland.

GFG’s Chief Executive, Anthony Howard, says that strong growth – especially in the GFG:Mobile and GFG:UniCARD lines of business – requires a single point of management focus and responsibility for international customer support, research and development, and customer implementations.

A key responsibility driving the new appointment is to review project implementation methodologies to ensure that, as GFG’s sales pipeline expands, the company has best practice systems to enable it to engage efficiently with many simultaneous projects, Howard says.

Wayne Robinson says GFG is forecasting continued strong growth in Mobile products, with Vodafone New Zealand’s HotLink service – allowing customers to use mobile phones to top up prepay or account balances directly from a nominated bank account – providing an early example. GFG is now gearing up to deliver the next evolution of these services, involving multiple mobile operators and banks.

GFG:UniCARD is also growing strongly as merchant management  and card issuing moves out of the banks’ domain.

Robinson says developing repeatable best practice processes will deliver significant customer benefits. More efficient implementations will lower project risk and cost while increasing the certainty of outcomes for customers.

“Excellent Customer support is the key to the long term relationships that GFG develops with its Customers, and we must not lose sight of that,” Robinson says.
