Peter Goldfinch to head up new GFG Singapore office
2 May 2005 / Media Release
GFG Group has appointed Peter Goldfinch to the new position of General Manager South East Asia based in Singapore.
In this new role, commencing in March 2005, Peter Goldfinch takes responsibility for establishing an office and direct market presence for GFG in South East Asia based in Singapore - building on GFG's decade plus of projects in the region and its presence in the Philippines headed by Roy Ebora.
GFG Group Chairman, Ralph Green, says: "The appointment represents a strategic foundation stone on which to achieve systematic growth in this important marketplace. It is no coincidence that Peter is one of the company's original shareholders."
"Peter brings a considerable international reputation to his new role, built on over 23 years in the information technology industry, most of which has been involved with consulting and systems development for banking and finance customers in 25 countries," Green says.
"Peter has world-class expertise and experience in payment systems, including mobile payment systems. This includes pioneering work on the first ATM and EFTPOS networks. In the mid-1990's, he played a key role in the introduction of credit and debit cards into the Russian market, working with GFG's customer SBRF. It's great to have Peter back on the team."
Green says the new GFG office in Singapore builds on the solid foundation established in the Philippines where GFG has implemented and supports an award-winning mobile payments solution for Smart Communications, as well as a major new GFG:UniCARD solution for one of the fastest growing banks in the region - Banco de Oro.
